I was flipping through my 2011 redbook, and the 1983 Washington quarter, both Philly and Denver had high numbers. In MS-63, they’re listed at 21 and 10, respectivly. But, they both had mintage figured over 600 million, which was about the same as other years. Why is this one year so much more valuable than others?
