When the latest United States Mint sales figures were released on Monday, it was no surprise that sales of its silver numismatic products would be down. After all, most of them had been suspended by the Mint for nearly a week. As it turned out, five of the six products in the line up that decreased were silver. Most of the gold products were up, and the annual clad sets were most popular.

The highlights were as follows… 2011 Uncirculated Silver Eagles caved the most. Its sales total decreased by 11,476. Fourteen gold products outperformed their prior week’s gains, with the one-tenth ounce Proof Gold Eagles improving the most in the gold category. And, the number one selling item was the 2011 Proof Set, which leaped by 8,780.(…)
